"Noia cockle”, a seal that identifies it as the best cockle in the world. These ones are a larger size and you can see the care that has been taken in canning them, one by one, cleaning them and treating each one with the respect they deserve.
This shellfish grows in the Ría de Noia in exceptional conditions, both due to the geological and climatic characteristics of this area, as well as the harvesting method, respecting the natural growth of this bivalve and limiting its catches to a few months a year. This collection is carried out in a traditional way, with shellfish afloat (with small boats) and shellfish on foot, carried out practically entirely by women.
