Nuri Extra Spiced Sardines in Olive Oil are a bold expression of traditional Portuguese canning, where spice is used to enhance rather than overpower the fish. Plump sardines are carefully prepared and packed with olive oil, cucumber, chilli, carrot, bay leaf, cloves and black pepper, creating gentle warmth and aromatic depth that builds slowly on the palate.

Produced by Pinhais & Cª Lda in Matosinhos, these sardines are still made using time-honoured methods refined over more than a century. The name Nuri, derived from the Arabic word for “shine,” reflects the clarity, balance and precision that define every tin.

How to enjoy them:
Serve straight from the tin with crusty bread and salted butter. Add to a tomato and onion salad with a splash of sherry vinegar. Or gently warm and spoon over boiled potatoes, finishing with parsley and a little of the spiced olive oil from the tin.
