In 1890, José Serrats established himself industrially in Bermeo, with the desire to preserve and take the delicious freshness and flavour of the products of the Cantabrian sea to the most remote places. Aided by the exceptional quality of the fish, it implements the new conservation techniques from France, which allow it to quickly introduce its products on European markets. Starting in 1914, in "Hijos de José Serrats, SA", they began to export to the North American market as well.
